Celebrating Traditions With Kerala Pongal Festival

If we symbolize a celebration in Kerala, the peace and happiness for all, Pongal strike on our heads. Celebrated by prayers to the sun god, Pongal marks the beginning of a new year. This four-day festival aims to praise and thank God with full devotion and faith and sincerity of heart. The festival is on 14 Of January is celebrated every year, and it coincides with the North Makar Sankranti, Lohri of Punjab, Bihu of Assam and Bhogali Bhogi of Andhra Pradesh. Itfalls after the winter solstice and a bountiful harvest, and marks the time of celebration and joyful activities.

A special dish called "Sarkkarai Pongal" is offered to seek the blessings of the sun god. The celebration includes nearly all living organisms. Even the insects feed rice flour available in the form of "Kollam" on the front door of the houses. The celebration on 13 January is known as "Bhogi. Main festival Pongal is celebrated on 14 January. The restCelebrate the 15th and 16 January will be replaced as' Mattu Pongal 'and' Thiruvalluvar Day ".

A special preparation of sweet rice, known as 'Pongal', in a new earthen pot is cooked and presented at the place where the puja to be performed. The festival is associated with cleanliness, the myths of victory over evil forces.
